Le Pivot Charity Hub
Le Pivot, the new Bosdet Foundation charity hub, was officially opened on Thursday 31st January 2019.
The Bosdet Charity Manager Alan Le Pavoux explained, ‘The main purpose of Le Pivot is for it to be the place for local charities to come for advice and support. A friendly ear, access to small resources, a hot desk, meeting room and printers, and as a training facility in the evenings. We have space here for funders, grant makers and philanthropic organisations, a space is always available for people to work from.
‘We are here to help and support anyone in the charity and community sector, if we can’t help, we will know someone that can. We want this space to be used to the point where the floor wears out.'
The Bosdet Foundation supports Jersey Community Partnership which works to assist a joined-up approach to the third sector, helping form partnerships, seeking funding and supporting research into the needs and effectiveness of programmes. Chief Executive of JCP Rachel French said, ‘When Le Pivot opened its doors, it made volunteering, community support and the sharing of resources accessible to all. The Jersey Community Partnership are delighted to have a base at Le Pivot, and we look forward to seeing the space and resources used by all members of the voluntary and community sector.’
A desk is designated for volunteer.je, another initiative set up Bosdet, which connects Jersey’s non-profit organisations, local charities, community events, sports teams, environmental initiatives and those who need a helping hand to suitable and willing volunteers. Alan states, ‘We want to encourage more people to come and see what volunteer jobs are available. Anyone is welcome to pop in and have a chat face to face.’< Back to Latest News
